This course analyzes the forces that keep increasing the demand for verbal, visual, and aural communication skills. The course examines the past, present, and future of information literacy, especially applications of emerging technology in human communication. Hands-on studio work will illuminate the promise and perils of networked intelligence while developing communication skills. Offered as needed.

This course explores the role of the arts in society. Various arts within the Humanities— visual, performing and interactive literary arts—will be analyzed along with their functions and interrelationships within historical, political, and cultural contexts. Emphasis of the course will be relating contemporary artistic practices to global perspectives and the human experience. Offered as needed.
